First off is the list of landmarks that are living witnesses of Motril s history. Casa de las Palmas , a 16 th century sugar mill, still stands proud as the principal source of income of the town until the 20 th century. Another is the baroque-style Town Hall with influences of Moorish art. Also worth mentioning is another baroque-style sanctuary of Nuestra Señora de la Cabeza .
